Cinnamon Rolls and Howling Dogs

So I know I already blogged Bud's B-day but that was actually a pre-scheduled post so I didn't get to post any pictures of the family party. We had a wild day planned with the California cousins coming in to town so we had a Birthday Brunch.

Thanks, Lindsey for the homemade cinnamon roll "cake"! It was delectable!

None of us have totally amazing voices so instead of pretending that we sound good, we have a tradition of having each person sing Happy Birthday in different octaves. The sound has been known to send the dogs into a howling frenzy.

I had to throw this one in. Connor had berries for brunch.

Now that Bud is 13, he prefers mostly money and this was his expression as he counted his loot. I told him he better put it all in his bank account. In 3 short years he will be driving and these parents don't provide wheels. Right now he has enough saved for 1 tank of gas and an air freshener.

2 crazy comments. I'm still waiting for yours!:

That cake looks GOOD! What a fun tradition for singing Happy Birthday - except maybe the dogs would disagree about this statement!!

The air freshener is the most important part. If he can't afford a car at 16, maybe he can at least walk around with the air freshener and some dice tied to his shoe laces. I'd be willing to go in on some dice for him. :)
