After spending 5 hours in the sun at the most beautiful beach in the world (Trunk Bay Beach), we boarded the ferry to travel from St. John to St. Thomas USVI last week and had to make the choice of whether to sit on the top deck in the sun, or below deck where it was shaded. This was our first day of intense Vitamin D intake and Melatonin and I was exhausted. The boys (all three) wanted to continue to bake so they abandoned me to sit alone below.
Within a few minutes an extremely large gentleman sat next to me and the ferry began to fill up quickly so we had to squeeze in tight to accommodate all of the passengers. This meant I was practically sitting on this strangers lap as he dialed his phone and began to speak loudly to his buddies about kids, life and future plans. I couldn't help but notice he had a large ring on his finger and after studying it nonchalantly, I realized it was a Super Bowl ring.
The glee swelled up inside me as I realized that I was in the most coveted seat on the ferry and the look on the boys faces when they find out that karma will come back to bite them in the ass for abandoning their mother in a strange land... MWAHAHAHAHA.. oooo... I couldn't wait to break the news!
After he finished his phone conversation the other passengers and I inquired who he played for and what he was doing now. If he missed playing the game and what he loved most about retirement. After the 45 minute ride he posed for pictures and we all said our goodbyes as I skipped off the boat and waited to break the news to the football fans.
The look on their faces was priceless as I explained what they had missed, showed them the pictures and pointed to his large frame getting into his car in the parking lot.
Ah sweet justice.
Me and Roland Williams :)

Hee hee hee! That's priceless!
It always works the other way around for me... Kid 2 and I, snorkeling in search of sea life, totally missed the sea turtle and dolphins that swarmed the boat where sat my Hubby and Kid 1 (who had wimped out on the snorkeling).
Bah!
That'll teach 'em. ;)
I have no idea who that is but I can only imagine the looks on those boys faces. YOU GO!
That's awesome. You go Mom for rubbing it in. I SOO would have done the same thing!
Mich
Yeah, good job for rubbing it in.
I love it. Love that you rubbed it in their faces and loved that you and the other passengers wanted to talk to him. He must have loved it, too:)
You showed them, didn't you? LOL I'm sure they were pissed.
I thought it was your new boyfriend!
Love it! I'd rub it in for months. :)
I was in St John over the weekend. We must have passed each other.
Nobody but my husband and my boss sat next near me on the ferry. Bummer.
How awesome! You not only got to meet Roland Williams, you got to rub it in their faces!
Oh it just doesn't get any better than that. It just doesn't! EVER.
You are a fox :-). I can imagine your son's reactions. I'm new to your blog but I'll definitely be back. I've been poking around and really enjoy what you feature here. I hope you have a great weekend. Blessings...Mary
So jealous. You should have that framed and hanging in the family room - just as a reminder.
HAHA! tHAT IS AWESOME! You show them, Girl!
Oh yeah! What a great adventure. Did he let you try on his super bowl ring?
↑↑↑↑↑ Hahahahahahaha ↑↑↑↑↑↑
Report you to who? Your mom? The president? The pope? And the ironic thing is....there is no bad language in this post...for a change! LMAO
haha! 'In your face!'
I'm new to your blog but I do love it so :D
Have it blown up to a life-size poster, and hang it in the living room. In fact, make about 10 copies and hang them everywhere in the house!
and those are some of the sweetest moments to live for, are they not? *knuckle bump*
