Ha; I am most definitely 100 percent with you, both in trying not to be an enabler and in enduring the effects of a coddled husband.

My son and his friend (they're 8 and 9) both realized their shoelaces were untied the other day when the moms were right there. His friend held out his foot to his mom! My son tried the same thing, until I gave him the "look." He struggled through tying his own shoe. The horror.

I have a 13 year old like that. We've locked him in his room and open it a crack to push his food tray in. We figure society is safer this way, and it's much easier than having to actually teach him stuff.

Haha. This made me laugh because Buddy pulled out his flat cardboard shoes with laces and asked me to help him the other day. I'm not kidding when I say that it took me 3 tries to get the shoes laced the right way.
